On­tario Tril­lium Foun­da­tion and City of Ot­tawa grants for Or­léans Fes­ti­val

"The Or­léans Fes­ti­val is with­out a doubt a ma­jor event in pro­mot­ing the creativ­ity of our com­mu­nity, Ot­tawa-Or­léans, and I wel­come the lead­ing role it plays," said MPP Phil McNeely.

This year’s OTF fund­ing will sup­port a wide­va­ri­ety of ac­tiv­i­ties, rang­ing from pro­gram­ming ex­penses to vol­un­teer train­ing, to ad­ver­tis­ing and equip­ment rentals.

Through the City of Ot­tawa’s 2012 Part­ner­ship Pro­gram for Ma­jor Fes­ti­vals and Fairs, the Or­léans Fes­ti­val will re­ceive $7,000 in fund­ing.

"Ot­tawa is renowned for its many prom­i­nent and suc­cess­ful fes­ti­vals," said Mayor Jim Wat­son. "The City is proud to sup­port the Or­léans com­mu­nity and the Or­léans Fes­ti­val, which con­tin­ues to show­case some of our re­gion’s best tal­ent while bring­ing friends and fam­i­lies to­gether through­out the fun filled week­end in June."

The OTF and City of Ot­tawa grants come on the heels of Ot­tawa—Or­léans Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment Royal Gali­peau’s con­fir­ma­tion, last month, that the Fes­ti­val will be re­ceiv­ing $9,000 in Cana­dian Her­itage fund­ing un­der the Build­ing Com­mu­ni­ties through Arts and Her­itage Pro­gram.

"The Or­léans Fes­ti­val is truly blessed to re­ceive such fan­tas­tic sup­port from our MP Royal Gali­peau, MPP Phil McNeely, Mayor Jim Wat­son and City Coun­cil­lors Bob Monette, Stephen Blais, Rainer Bloess and Tim Tier­ney," said Poirier. "Thanks to the fi­nan­cial sup­port of all three lev­els of gov­ern­ment, we’ve been able to lever­age pri­vate-sec­tor spon­sor­ship to put on what will un­doubt­edly be the best Or­léans Fes­ti­val yet."

Tak­ing to the Or­léans Fes­ti­val’s stages this year will be head­lin­ers The Dusty Drifters, Yves Lam­bert, Trac­teur Jack and Born Ruf­fi­ans. The 2012 Or­léans Fes­ti­val will fea­ture a to­tal of 40 per­for­mances, 30 vis­ual artists, 15 ar­ti­sans, and 5 culi­nary events, all sup­ported by over 50 lo­cal spon­sors.
