Pro­ject "Sun­set" En­force­ment Ini­tia­tive wraps up

The Ot­tawa Po­lice Ser­vice con­ducted a three-week en­force­ment cam­paign tar­get­ing street gang crim­i­nal ac­tiv­ity. The Di­rect Ac­tion Re­sponse Team (DART) Unit and West Neigh­bor­hood Of­fi­cers (NHO) fo­cused in the west end of Ot­tawa. This Pro­ject Sun­set cam­paign re­sulted in thir­teen (13) ar­rests, fifty-one (51) charges, 18.55 grams of crack co­caine with a street level value of 3700.00$, 61.45 grams of mar­i­juana with a street level value of 921.75$, two large knives, one ma­chete, and one replica hand­gun. "This cam­paign proved suc­cess­ful when it comes to ad­dress­ing com­mu­nity safety con­cerns," noted Staff Sergeant Mark Pat­ter­son, DART and Guns & Gangs. "The col­lab­o­ra­tion of two OPS sec­tions for this en­force­ment ini­tia­tive also worked out well."
