Orleans Star - - LOCAL NEWS -

The Ottawa Police Service Break & Enter Unit is investigating two overnight break-ins in the Sandy Hill area.

At approximately 4:35 a.m., a suspect entered into the first residence through an unlocked door. A female victim was awakened by the suspect in her bedroom. While officers responded to this incident, another break-in was reported a few blocks away. The victim was also awakened by the suspect in her bedroom. A search of the area by officers and the canine unit was not successful in locating the suspect. The victims were not physically injured in either case.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, around 6’, medium muscular build, bald with a beard, wearing a grey zip-up long sleeved sweater with a logo on the left chest area and 2 stripes at the wrist level, long khaki shorts, light coloured gym type shoes.

The Ottawa Police urge residents to be diligent in ensuring their doors and windows are always locked.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Ottawa Police

Central Break & Enter Unit.
