BOMA 2013/2014

Ottawa Business Journal - BOMA Magazine - - President’s Message -

BOMA Ottawa is pleased to report that 2013 again proves the need for the Commercial Real Estate industry to have a voice. Following our success with the National BOMA Conference BOMEX in Ottawa, we have turned our attention to the more recognized events in our activities list.

As always BOMA hosts its Lunch Series, bringing interesting speakers to the attention of our members, but more importantly identifying issues of common concern. This coupled with our Education program of BOMI courses, seminars and lectures help Commercial Real Estate professionals stay on top of the issues that they all face.

On behalf of all BOMA’s across Canada, we again organized the National Compensation Survey, in partnership with Hays and we collaborated with another large national firm when BOMA and Deloitte published a study of the impact of the Commercial Real Estate industry on the Ottawa economy.

BOMA Activity days, have also proved to be very popular allowing BOMA members to interact, and even raise money for a good cause. In 2013, the Charity of Choice for BOMA is the Royal Ottawa Hospital.

As 2013 progresses, we find ourselves again partnering, but this time with other associations and the City of Ottawa on the Official Plan for the City.

BOMA has organized a team of experts to review all elements of the Official plan on behalf of our members and the industry provide leadership towards having a more prosperous and well run city.
