Whether you’re re­lax­ing at the cot­tage or gather­ing with friends on an ur­ban deck, who wants to slave in the kitchen when the great out­doors is beck­on­ing? Chefs Jen­nifer War­ren-Part and Charles Part, the own­ers of the famed Les Fougères restau­rant in Chelsea, Que­bec, have a so­lu­tion – de­li­cious take-home foods that make putting on an im­pres­sive spread ef­fort­less. Les Fougères has long of­fered a se­lec­tion of gourmet good­iesto-go, but they’ve re­cently ramped up pro­duc­tion to in­clude an ex­panded range of de­lec­ta­ble dishes. Just in time for cot­tage sea­son, they’ve also ex­tended their dis­tri­bu­tion net­work, mak­ing it eas­ier than ever to take-out and serve a fan­tas­tic meal.

How long have you been in the food busi­ness?

We have over fifty years of com­bined pro­fes­sional culi­nary ex­pe­ri­ence and opened Les Fougères nearly eigh­teen years ago. We launched our orig­i­nal take-home food shop in 2004 and it’s been a great suc­cess for us. We be­lieve that our take-home of­fer­ings are rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the same qual­ity, tasty food that peo­ple have al­ways en­joyed at the restau­rant.

What is the phi­los­o­phy be­hind your take home line?

We con­sider our foods as gourmet so­lu­tions for time con­strained epi­cure­ans. We rely on lo­cal in­gre­di­ents from trusted sup­pli­ers; we are very proud to pre­pare whole­some, flavour­ful, nu­tri­tion­ally bal­anced meals with no ad­di­tives or chem­i­cals.

How many take home prod­ucts do you of­fer?

We of­fer well over 100 items ev­ery day at our re­cently-ex­panded store in Chelsea. And we have a num­ber of se­lect re­tail out­lets in Que­bec (La Bru­lerie; La Boite à Grains; La Mai­son Bis­son; Metro Kelly Aylmer; Wil­liam J Wal­ter; Sol Epicerie Santé and oth­ers) that will be car­ry­ing 50 of our most pop­u­lar soups, meat pies, cur­ries, casseroles and condi­ments. As well, at our store on Fri­days, Satur­days and Sun­days, we now of­fer a spe­cial $19.95 take-home mul­ti­course meal that changes each week.

What about spe­cial di­etary re­quire­ments?

Les Fougères’ take-home foods in­clude nu­mer­ous gluten-free, ve­gan and veg­e­tar­ian op­tions. Call ahead and we’ll gladly cus­tom­ize a menu for your par­tic­u­lar re­quire­ments.
