Classic style stands the test of time

Interior decorator Susan Bryson’s stylish career has taken her on a varied path, from being a fashion model and television host, to creating a tranquil environment for her own family home. The career connection combines an understanding of the harmonious space required for a professional fashion shoot, with the experience of knowing the benefits of a good set design on television. Susan’s appreciation for a balanced, welldesigned space evolved into a role as a decorator which plays an ongoing part in her life.

A clean and classic style is reflected beautifully in Susan’s grand home, which she shares with her husband Chris

Vickers and their son and daughter in Cedarhill Estates. Clients get a feel for Susan’s personal taste during meetings held in her gracious living room. It serves as her home office and features magnificent floor-toceiling windows, decorated in her classic trademark style.

The architectural detailing was a selling feature of the 25-yearold home, which was dated when Susan and Chris purchased it. The necessary esthetic changes excited the couple and allowed them to implement their sophisticated tastes into the already grand structure with a majestic setting. It was an ideal opportunity for Susan to showcase her skills as a decorator and enhance the welcoming allure of the home’s stately curb appeal combined with perennial gardens, plenty of open grass areas and an inviting swimming pool.

CLOCKWISE: Classic styling in the living room sets the tone; a rustic kitchen table is perfect for family living and complements the exposed brick wall; elegance is carried from inside to out; Susan works from a trestle table made by her great-uncle and refinished by her father.
