Rogers Day­time Ot­tawa co-host Der­ick Fage takes refuge in his hot tub

Der­ick Fage be­lieves that be­ing bul­lied as a child has shaped who he is to­day. But so has his sup­port­ive fam­ily, who got him through the tough times and en­cour­aged him to get in front of an au­di­ence.

“When I was really young, my par­ents wanted to help my self-con­fi­dence and self­es­teem,” says Der­ick, as he re­laxes on the Day­time Ot­tawa’s red couch af­ter tap­ing. “I fell in love with act­ing.”

To­day, Der­ick co-hosts Day­time Ot­tawa on Rogers TV – a gig he feels pas­sion­ately about, and one that brings out his nat­u­ral cu­rios­ity. His act­ing blos­somed dur­ing his teen years when Der­ick hosted high school as­sem­blies, took part in school plays, and joined an im­prov team at the Great Cana­dian The­atre Com­pany.

When he re­ceived his high school di­ploma, Der­ick did ad­min­is­tra­tive work in his fa­ther’s ac­count­ing firm, but his true love of act­ing was al­ways in the back of his mind. While at the firm, he de­cided to try out for a mur­der mys­tery din­ner
