Better late than never for 67’s
67’S 3, BULLS 2
Remy Giftopoulos scored at the 19:59 mark of the third period and Michael Nishi made 40 saves in his Ottawa debut Saturday night and the 67’s returned from Belleville with a 3-2 victory over the Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League.
Giftopoulos and Marc Zanetti, on the power play, gave the 67’s (13-6-4) a 2-0 lead before the Bulls (13-9-0) rallied with goals from Luke Judson and Daniil Zharkov. Just when the game appeared headed for overtime, however, Giftopoulos notched his second to make a winner of Nishi, who was acquired last week in a trade with the Soo Greyhounds and allowed Petr Mrazek to get a night off after Friday’s 6-5 OT loss to the Barrie Colts at the Civic Centre.
Malcolm Subban made 26 saves for Belleville.
Dalton Smith added a pair of assists for the 67’s, who are back in action this afternoon at home against the Niagara Icedogs.
