Bet­ter late than never for 67’s

67’S 3, BULLS 2

Remy Giftopou­los scored at the 19:59 mark of the third pe­riod and Michael Nishi made 40 saves in his Ot­tawa de­but Satur­day night and the 67’s re­turned from Belleville with a 3-2 vic­tory over the Bulls in the On­tario Hockey League.

Giftopou­los and Marc Zanetti, on the power play, gave the 67’s (13-6-4) a 2-0 lead be­fore the Bulls (13-9-0) ral­lied with goals from Luke Jud­son and Daniil Zharkov. Just when the game ap­peared headed for over­time, how­ever, Giftopou­los notched his sec­ond to make a win­ner of Nishi, who was ac­quired last week in a trade with the Soo Grey­hounds and al­lowed Petr Mrazek to get a night off af­ter Fri­day’s 6-5 OT loss to the Barrie Colts at the Civic Cen­tre.

Mal­colm Sub­ban made 26 saves for Belleville.

Dal­ton Smith added a pair of as­sists for the 67’s, who are back in ac­tion this af­ter­noon at home against the Ni­a­gara Ice­dogs.
