Police investigate two shootings

Police are investigating two shootings — one on Prince Albert Street and the other on Somerset Street. The shooting in Overbrook took place just before midnight on Thursday night. Police report that it happened on Prince Albert Street, near Isidore Street. No injuries were reported and there are currently no suspects. The second shooting, on Somerset Street in Centretown, occurred at approximately 1:53 a.m. Friday. Shots were fired on the stretch of Somerset between Preston Street and Spadina Avenue. Again, no injuries were reported and no suspects were in custody. The Ottawa Police Service indicates there is currently no evidence linking the two incidents. These are the 56th and 57th shootings of the year.
