Gibson had tantrum over Braveheart budget
The Hollywood Reporter has published an excerpt from Stephen Galloway’s new book, Leading Lady, a biography of studio executive Sherry Lansing, with whom Mel Gibson was not very happy while negotiating the budget for Braveheart. As negotiations continued, Gibson became infuriated and “grabbed a large glass ashtray and threw it through the wall.” One week later, Paramount took a lower distribution fee and gave him the budget he requested for the movie.
