Le Geyt was always fun to be around
Re: Citizen’s ‘bird lady’ inspired generation of naturalists, Oct. 7.
It was my privilege to know Elizabeth Le Geyt personally. I treasured my visits with her. She was friendly, warm and just plain fun to be around.
She once asked me if a large plant growing outside her window was “marijuaner.”
When I told her I didn’t know she decided to mail it to her son in British Columbia, presumably because they know about such things out there. When I saw her again, I asked what the verdict was.
She replied, “Pfft! By the time it got there it was compost!” I will miss her.
