A Chinese tourist died after he was attacked by a hippo while taking pictures on the shore of Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley, just hours after a hippo killed a local fisherman in the same area, Kenya’s wildlife authority said Sunday.
“The man was bitten on the chest, and his injuries were serious and he died minutes after he was retrieved from the lake,” said Rift Valley head of criminal investigations Gideon Kibunja.
A second Chinese tourist was injured in the incident Saturday night, and received treatment in the local hospital 91 kilometres southeast of Nairobi.
The deaths brought to six the number people who have been killed by hippos around Lake Naivasha so far this year.
Congratulation go out to Henry the Hippo. Henry put on an amazing display of skill while participating in the "Let's Kill A Dumbass Tourist" Competition being held in Hippo-Land. Just hours before, a fisherman who was plying his trade in Hippo-Land got taught about who lives where and who was there first. Surely this is a run up to the "Let me Kill You before You Kill Me" Wildlife Olympics but, no doubt, Henry will see the business end of a 308 or 30.06 before the competition.
Like the Chinese tourist who wanted his picture taken with a Grizzly on the side of the trans Canada or the tourist who wanted to pet a moose. One can only hope that the animal comes out on top and the tourist wins the Jackass Award. Yep MB, the wonderful world of Disney strikes again.

Tourists expect Disney like experiences in places of the wild. How close does one need to be to observe an animal.
