Are schools failing our male students?

Re: Congratulations Class of 2020 advertisement by the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, July 4.

Congratulations to all the “2020 OCDSB Student Recognition Award Recipients.”

But where are the boys (young men)? The women in this OCDSB picture outnumber the men by more than four to one. Is this more anecdotal evidence on how our schools are failing our boys (young men)? And before anyone decides to blame the boys, remember the saying: “A failure to learn is a failure to teach.” Does our education system (school boards, schools, teachers) need to address this disparity?
