Carmen Derenowski of Porcupine Plain, Sask., writes, “Our Canadian seniors worked hard all their lives to build our country. I hope younger generations appreciate all their efforts to create our nation. I work as a recreation therapist at the Red Deer Nursing Home here in Porcupine Plain. I took this photo (below) of Verna Chysyk, one of our residents. She graduated as a psychiatric nurse in Portage La Prairie, Man., in 1957. I wanted to create an image that paid tribute to her life’s work. She is looking in a mirror, but the image she sees is her younger self from that long-ago time when she was a new graduate. Of course, the viewer of the image also sees her as she is today. To me, this image is a poignant reminder of how time can never change the person we are inside.”
HI THERE! “When this cute little bunny stood up to say hello and snack on some clover, I snapped his photo,” shares Iain Hopkinson of Victoria.
