More Hidden Treasure

Our Canada - - News - Bernice Maclean, Margaretville, N. S.

I enjoyed the story “A Treasure Reclaimed” by Jo-anne Sheanh (February-march 2017). I had just finished looking over some bygone treasures of my own, finding two old autograph books I had in the 1940s and ’50s. I also found my mother’s autograph books from the ’20s and ’30s. I spent a long time reading every verse; they were indeed treasures and I loved the memories they brought back of the people who’d written them. I’ve never forgotten one particular verse my mother wrote in my book, “Have all, trust few, always paddle your own canoe!”
