BURMA RAILROAD

Our Canada - - Collectors - by Marlies Liket ( loosely translated from Dutch to English)

Each nail cost a life, Each screw was paid for in blood, People have given themselves And paid for years.

Each stone caused aches and pains And each step, the light of life. People crawled around like ants, And despair and agony shaped their faces.

Each day there was suffering. And each night there was death. People cried out for peace But the earth was coloured red.
