Fall fair this weekend
The Ramona Fall Fair takes place Saturday. The family event will celebrate its 128th year at the Ramona Hall, just outside of Washago. Gates open at 10 a.m., with official opening ceremony at 12 p.m. Admission is $6 per adult/senior, and free for kids. Food available for purchase includes hamburgers, fries, the fair’s famous meat pies, pea soup, onion rings and more. There will also be a licensed beer garden. Kids’ games, activities and competitions include a spelling bee, reading and speaking competitions. Agricultural and craft displays will be in the exhibit hall. A logging demonstration will allow visitors to embrace the yesteryear of working horses and the logging industry. Vendors will be on site and there will be a silent auction. The grand finale event will be the light and heavy horse pull from 4 to 6:30 p.m (sanctioned by the Ontario Horse Pullers’ Association).
