Canada’s Lemieux Wins London RedHook Crit No. 3

Canada’s Raphaele Lemieux (Team iBike) has taken the big­gest vic­tory of her ca­reer by win­ning the women’s London RedHook Crit No. 3 on July 22, at­tack­ing on the last lap through the chi­cane to get a gap that she was able to hold to the line.

Eleonore Saraiva (FRA, Aven­ton) fin­ished sec­ond while Jas­mine Dotti (ITA, IRD Car­rera Squadra Corse) was third. Pre-race favourite Dani King (GBR, Cy­lance) was un­able to shake her ri­vals and ended up fifth. The men’s race went to Filippo Fortin (ITA, Team Bahumer).

Last year, Lemieux was Que­bec’s fe­male cri­terium champ and fin­ished third at the Cri­terium Na­tionale, which was held in the early evening the day prior to the Grands Prix Cy­clistes de Montreal. She also took the iBike women’s ti­tle and won her di­vi­sion at the 2016 Mardis Cy­clistes de La­chine.

The RedHook Crits are a se­ries of fixed gear cri­teri­ums for mas­ter rid­ers. Lemieux was the only Cana­dian com­pet­ing in London.
