ITU Mul­tisport an­nounces special events

With the Pen­tic­ton 2017 ITU Mul­tisport World Cham­pi­onship Fes­ti­val now less than three weeks away, special events for the fes­ti­val were an­nounced, Sun­day.

Triath­letes from more than 40 coun­tries will be par­tic­i­pat­ing in the week-long event sched­uled for Aug. 18 -27 in Pen­tic­ton and the sur­round­ing area.

“There are a num­ber of special events planned for all to en­joy over and above the sport­ing events,” di­rec­tor of special events Su­san Robin­son said.

“You can take part in them, in a num­ber of ways ei­ther as a par­tic­i­pant, spec­ta­tor or vol­un­teer. Get in­volved and show the world what Pen­tic­ton is all about!”

The fol­low­ing is a par­tial list of special events: Fri­day, Aug, 18, 5 p.m., Pa­rade of Na­tions on Lakeshore Drive (to the Trade and Con­ven­tion Cen­tre)

Satur­day, Aug. 19, 8 - 11 p.m., DJ Jake at Gyro Park (li­censed event)

Wed­nes­day, Aug. 23, 6 p.m., Pa­rade of Na­tions, Main Street to Gyro Park

Wed­nes­day, Aug. 23, 7:30 - 11 p.m., Red and White Fes­ti­val at Gyro Park (li­censed event)

Fri­day, Aug. 25, 8 - 11 p.m., Street/Beach Party, west end of Lakeshore Drive

Sun­day, Aug. 27, 8 - 11 p.m., clos­ing cer­e­mony and party in Gyro Park (li­censed event)
