Penticton Herald - - CITY -

Owners of private properties on Okanagan and Osoyoos lakes can now register to have unwanted sand and sandbags removed at no expense.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen has hired a private contractor to do the work, and is now compiling a list of properties where service is needed.

Remnants of damaged private docks and other unnatural debris will also be hauled away.

Eligible communities are Osoyoos, Naramata, rural Summerland and Red Wing, plus First Nations lands.

Signed consent forms are required for the contractor to enter private properties.

Forms are available through the RDOS website (www.rdos.bc.ca) or at the main office at 101 Martin St. in Penticton.

Completed forms can be submitted in person or by email to eocops1@rdos.bc.ca.
