We can fix ICBC by scrapping ICBC
Dear Editor: ICBC, another ignominious failure injected on the citizenry of British Columbia way back in the 1970s, by the social engineers of the NDP. Why is it only in B.C. must we have a government monopoly directing who we should insure with and consequently driving rates up to the highest in Canada?
B.C. politics has always for some reason left me and others I’m sure, non-plussed, with unbridled loathing. Now rates are predicted to go even higher. A punishing illustration of why government just does not belong in business.
The only sure way of fixing ICBC is to scrap it entirely and let the strengths of capitalism play out. Paul Crossley
