City re­spond­ing to Her­ald ar­ti­cles

In re­sponse to a se­ries of ar­ti­cles in The Her­ald last week re­gard­ing the sub­jects of some of city coun­cil’s in-cam­era meet­ings, the City of Pen­tic­ton has launched a new web­page called “For the record” to help clar­ify its po­si­tion.

It con­sists of nine ques­tions and an­swers sur­round­ing is­sues raised in The Her­ald se­ries. Top­ics range from the pur­pose of in-cam­era meet­ings to the meth­ods by which in­for­ma­tion from in-cam­era meet­ings is shared.

City en­gage­ment of­fi­cer JoAnne Kleb said in an email the new page will be up­dated pe­ri­od­i­cally “as a chan­nel to ad­dress some of the is­sues that sur­face in so­cial me­dia as well as in the news.”

“For the record” can be found un­der the news tab on the city’s home­page.
