Appreciates the regular writers

Penticton Herald - - LETTERS -

Dear Editor: It was with a morning smile that I read Tom Isherwood’s letter regarding his response to Glenn Thompson’s letter taking an unwarranted swipe at several “letters to the editor” writers (Herald, Oct. 10).

I for one welcome those who are willing to stand up for what’s right while taking some of our political jackasses to task for their irresponsible and asinine decisions!

To Ron Barillaro and Elvena Slump, I say kudos for taking the time and energy to bring many of the detrimental decisions made by those in municipal, provincial and federal governments to light as it is fundamentally necessary that information regarding anything that affects the citizens of this country in a negative way must be brought to the attention of all!

When I originally read Mr. Thompson’s letter I was somewhat confused as, after taking a swipe at and castigating the aforementioned writers, he stated that he was brought up with the attitude that if you can’t say something nice about someone, say nothing at all.

Surely I’m not the only one who can see the irony and hypocrisy in that statement. On a separate note, I am in total agreement with Mark Billesberger’s letter regarding our broken legal system and am tired of our politicians and judges enabling this scourge to prey on law abiding taxpaying citizens at our expense!
