Fundraiser Oct. 21 for fire victim

Penticton Herald - - CITY -

A fundraiser for Cheryl Molina, who lost all of her personal possessions in Wednesday evening’s house fire on Lakeside Road, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21 at the White Spot restaurant in Penticton.

Management will donate 20 per cent of all sales to the woman from the Philippines, who was living with a family that employed her as a housekeeper.

“She was just getting ready to go back (to the Philippines) and she lost $1,000 in cash, her computer and everything else she had brought to Canada,” said home owner Al Mansfield, who owns the White Spot restaurant in Penticton. “Her passport was recovered but except for that, she literally lost everything.”
