Elec­tion fo­rum Mon­day in Ver­non

The Ver­non and Dis­trict Per­form­ing Arts Cen­tre So­ci­ety will host a free, two-part pub­lic town-hall fo­rum on Mon­day for the 20 can­di­dates run­ning for Ver­non city coun­cil.

The fo­rum will be pre­ceded by an in­for­mal meet-and-greet with the can­di­dates from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. in the Per­form­ing Arts Cen­tre’s main foyer.

At 6 p.m., a pre­sen­ta­tion and dis­cus­sion will take place on a ref­er­en­dum ask­ing North Okana­gan tax­pay­ers to bor­row $25 mil­lion for a new cul­tural fa­cil­ity.

Af­ter a break, coun­cil can­di­dates will be in­vited to an­swer ques­tions sub­mit­ted by the au­di­ence.

The fo­rum is sched­uled to wrap up at 8:30 p.m.
