Prairie Post (West Edition) - - Alberta -

Roots rocker Leeroy Stagger is bringing a pared-down version of his show with The Rebeltone Sound to the Empress Theatre with his Campfire Diaries tour on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Stagger, who fuses roots, rock and pop music, is widely considered one of Canada’s best contemporary singer/songwriters. Since first making his mark on the Canadian independent music scene in the early 2000s, Stagger has toured the world, both on his own and with the likes of Steve Earle, Pixies, Modest Mouse and Evan Dando.

Stagger’s performances and song writing have won him 102.7 The Peak’s highly competitive Performance Project in 2015 and the Calgary Folk Festival Pros and Prose contest in 2014.

His album Radiant Land was a nominee for the 2013 Western Canadian Music Award for Roots Solo Recording of the Year.

In April 2017, Lethbridge-based Stagger added to his large body of work with the release of his eleventh album, Love Versus. His songs have appeared in such television shows as Grey’s Anatomy and Sons of Anarchy.

Tickets to see Leeroy Stagger and The Rebeltone Sound are only $28 and available at MacleodEmpress.com or by calling 403-553-4404.
