Man in­jured in bear at­tack near Weirdale

A bear at­tack near Weirdale sent a 39-year-old man to hos­pi­tal with “se­ri­ous in­juries.”

Park­land Am­bu­lance paramedics re­sponded to the at­tack, about five kilo­me­tres east of Weirdale, at 7:37 p.m. Mon­day. They cared for the vic­tim, who sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries, and sent him to Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal in Prince Al­bert for fur­ther treat­ment. He was later trans­ferred to Royal Uni­ver­sity Hos­pi­tal in Saska­toon.

Ac­cord­ing to a Park­land Am­bu­lance press re­lease, the man is now in good and sta­ble con­di­tion.

Weirdale is lo­cated about 45 kilo­me­tres north­east of Prince Al­bert.
