Police say that a man was killed in Friday’s accident on Highway 2, in a hit-and-run just north of Prince Albert.

The Prince Albert RCMP and the Buckland Fire Department responded to the incident at about noon. They found that an injured pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle that fled the scene on Highway 2 North, approximately 4 km north of the city.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to an RCMP press release put out on Saturday. He was a 58-year-old man from Montreal Lake, though police declined to release his name.

An RCMP Collision Re-Construction investigator attended the scene and the detachment continues to investigate.
