Po­lice in­ves­ti­gat­ing sec­ond fa­tal col­li­sion on High­way 2

For the sec­ond time in less than a week, a man is dead af­ter be­ing struck by a ve­hi­cle while walk­ing on High­way 2.

Mon­day morn­ing at about 8:20 p.m. Prince Al­bert RCMP were called to a ve­hi­cle vs. pedes­trian col­li­sion on High­way 2 North near Christo­pher Lake. The pedes­trian was struck by a north­bound ve­hi­cle, and pro­nounced dead at the scene.

The driver was not phys­i­cally in­jured.

RCMP will not be re­leas­ing the iden­tity of the 55-year-old male vic­tim, a Black Lake res­i­dent.

An RCMP col­li­sion re­con­struc­tion in­ves­ti­ga­tor at­tended the scene. Traf­fic was re­duced in the area for a pe­riod of time and re­opened in the evening. RCMP con­tinue to in­ves­ti­gate. On Fri­day a 58-year-old from Mon­treal Lake was struck and killed in what po­lice are de­scrib­ing as a hit-and-run just four km north of Prince Al­bert. Po­lice are also still in­ves­ti­gat­ing that in­ci­dent.
