Charges laid in fa­tal hit-and-run

The Prince Al­bert RCMP have laid charges against a 34-year-old Prince Al­bert woman in con­nec­tion with a fa­tal hit and run from Septem­ber 8.

Pa­tri­cia Lee Se­wap has been charged with fail­ing to re­main at the scene of an ac­ci­dent caus­ing death and pub­lic mis­chief. She was re­leased from cus­tody and is sched­uled for court on Oc­to­ber 30.

The in­ci­dent took place on High­way 2 North, about 4 km north of the city, nearby the wild­fire op­er­a­tions cen­tre. A 58-year-old man from Mon­treal Lake was pro­nounced dead at the scene. In­ves­ti­ga­tors de­scribed it as a case of a pedes­trian struck by a ve­hi­cle.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was com­pleted with as­sis­tance from the Prince Al­bert RCMP Gen­eral In­ves­ti­ga­tion Sec­tion.
