Reflections on the good news

Prince Albert Daily Herald - - OPINION - JOEL DUBOURT

The Advocate, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name-He will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the World gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, “I am going away and I am coming back to you.” Matthew 14: 26-28

As Christians, we believe in God, the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, the son, came in obedience to the Father to die on the cross for our sins. Through Him we have salvation for our souls. The Holy Spirit reminds us of this fact and of all that Jesus Christ taught his disciples. Reminding assumes that we have read the Holy Scriptures, the Gospels, the letters, and even the Old Testament. If we have not read or at least heard the Good News, we cannot be reminded of them. Jesus promises us His peace, not wordly peace, but the peace in our hearts and minds that surpasses understanding.

Come together to pray for the peace that God gives us if we desire it. Look for ways to gather in prayer over and above our Sunday liturgies.
