I was also there (see 75TH Anniversary of ORP Blyskawica) representing the HMCS Haida Association and the Friends of Haida as well as the RCN. I had a wonderful time and was treated royally by the Polish Navy. I along with the contingent from Cowes enjoyed a few glasses of wine etc. before, during and after the Ceremonies. :-) The weather turned bitterly cold at the start of the November 25th Ceremony with a gusty wind coming off of the Baltic. Still the Polish Naval Drill team carried out their precision rifle demonstration and the event went off without a hitch. As you mentioned the Haida was twinned with the Blyskawica in June 2006. A good time was had by all. Unfortunately other representatives of the 10th flotilla during WWII couldn't make it. I was the one who travelled the farthest. Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year to you and all of our CTDA members.
