2014 Royal Canadian Navy Kit News
A few new kits of interest to Royal Canadian Navy modelers are on the horizon for next year.
Trumpeter plans to release a 1/350 HMCS Huron G24 Canadian Destroyer (1944) in January 2014. The kit will consist of over 260 parts including photo-etched details and display stand.
Also due early in 2014 is a 1/32 T-6 Texan from KittyHawk Model. Test shots look quite detailed, though the first boxing will probably not contain Canadian decals.
Even more exciting news is that KittyHawk Model plans to release a 1/48th McDonnell F2H-3/-4 Banshee kit. Only CAD drawings have been released, so the kit will probably not appear until mid to late 2014.
To go with the Banshee, Canuck Model Products with be releasing RCN decals in 1/72 and 1/48 for the Banshee, as well as two sets of markings options for the CP-140 Aurora in 1/144. Stepping outside their usual Canadian remit, they will also issue a 1/72 sheet for the Royal Australian Air Force P-3 Orion in 1/72.
