Legion Sup­ports Grant­ing Ci­ti­zen­ship to “Lost Cana­di­ans”

The Royal Cana­dian Legion Do­min­ion Pres­i­dent, Gor­don Moore, is pleased with the re­cent leg­isla­tive changes pro­posed by the Ci­ti­zen­ship and Im­mi­gra­tion Min­is­ter Chris Alexan­der on Fe­bru­ary 6th 2014 as they re­late to War Brides and chil­dren of War Brides which, un­til now, many had been barred from ob­tain­ing Cana­dian ci­ti­zen­ship.

“The in­tro­duc­tion of Bill-C-24 Strength­en­ing Cana­dian Ci­ti­zen­ship Act will al­low War Brides and Chil­dren of War Brides to fi­nally come home,” says Moore. “It is an­tic­i­pated that this new leg­is­la­tion will ad­dress this great in­jus­tice and hope­fully grant these ‘lost Cana­di­ans’ both Cana­dian Ci­ti­zen­ship and all the rights af­forded them as Cana­di­ans,” says Moore.

Mr. Moore sent a let­ter to the Prime Min­is­ter on Septem­ber 4th 2013, to re­quest a timely re­view of the facts sur­round­ing War Brides as well as the chil­dren of War Brides.
