I recently stumbled upon the article “Guiding the Gifted” (August 2015) while at a community centre in Halifax. I was immediately struck by it. As a young student in the 1950s I skipped two grades, but even then I was bored and disruptive. During
most classes I would read under my desk or jump from my seat to catch the teacher’s attention. Like many children in your story, I didn’t belong and was always in trouble without understanding why. Thanks for giving a voice to kids whose school experiences paralleled mine.
