NEW-FOUND HOPE

Reader's Digest (Canada) - - Letters -

I’ve never written in to thank you for your excellent articles, but after reading “A World of Worry” (July/ August 2017) I felt I must. As the mother of a 23-year-old who has physical and mental disabilities and who has suffered from anxiety his entire life, I’ve struggled to find proper treatment for my son. Throughout the years, different medical professionals have dismissed his anxiety disorder.

However, after reading your article I was able to approach our family doctor with new insight. I told him I suspected my son might have generalized anxiety disorder. The doctor listened and prescribed him an anti-anxiety medication. The change in him was immediate. My son is now relaxed, smiling and enjoying life to the fullest. Your article was a lifesaver.
