As I read “What’s Wrong With Me?” (April 2018) I was startled by how familiar the patient’s symptoms were. Nearly 12 years ago, I, too, was struck by a sudden, excruciating headache and nausea. Eventually, I was diagnosed with the same thing as the patient in the story—an AVM (arteriovenous malformation) brain bleed. Although I still deal with shortterm memory loss and fatigue, I have come a long way in my recovery. I want to thank Reader’s Digest for drawing attention to this rare disorder and for giving such a detailed explanation of its symptoms and long-term side effects.
