WHAT’S THE DEAL?
Why is Norway the only Nordic country almost never included in Numbers? In July and August, even little Iceland is included! Is Norway still so unknown to many that it is considered to be a city in Sweden?
SVERRE SYLTE, Norway
Editor’s Reply: For the Numbers department, we use the entire survey, if possible, but often there are data from more countries than we can print. Then we need to make a selection. We always begin with data from countries where Reader’s Digest appears, including Norway. But the reader has a point. Of the ten Numbers pages produced so far this year, Norway was featured in five. However, two of the remaining five dealt with subjects limited to the European Union. So, overall, the situation is not all that bad.
