If you haven’t heard of Marco de Vin­cenzo’s fringed frocks, bold geo­met­ric prints or splashes of yel­low and pink on the run­way, it’s be­cause the 36-year-old Ital­ian designer is used to op­er­at­ing be­hind the scenes. De Vin­cenzo stud­ied fash­ion de­sign at Isti­tuto Eu­ropeo di De­sign in Rome, and made his de­but at luxury fash­ion house Fendi af­ter grad­u­a­tion. At the high-end Ital­ian la­bel, de Vin­cenzo worked as an as­sis­tant to designer Sil­via Ven­turini Fendi and quickly be­came pas­sion­ate about hand­bags, fur and leather. Af­ter 14 years at Fendi, de Vin­cenzo has re­cently stepped into the spot­light him­self as an emerg­ing designer. Years af­ter his line’s launch in 2009, the ris­ing tal­ent is now sup­ported by French fash­ion and ac­ces­sories group LVMH, which is sure to cat­a­pult him to house­hold name sta­tus. His de­signs have al­ready made a splash at Mi­lan Fash­ion Week, and have been spot­ted on trendsetting stars like Bey­oncé and Tay­lor Swift “I have my own ob­ses­sions that re­turn — my play with colors, waves, cir­cles, geo­met­ric and three-di­men­sional mod­ules, the op­ti­cal Six­ties,” de Vin­cenzo told Women’s Wear Daily.
