MARCO DE VINCENZO
If you haven’t heard of Marco de Vincenzo’s fringed frocks, bold geometric prints or splashes of yellow and pink on the runway, it’s because the 36-year-old Italian designer is used to operating behind the scenes. De Vincenzo studied fashion design at Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, and made his debut at luxury fashion house Fendi after graduation. At the high-end Italian label, de Vincenzo worked as an assistant to designer Silvia Venturini Fendi and quickly became passionate about handbags, fur and leather. After 14 years at Fendi, de Vincenzo has recently stepped into the spotlight himself as an emerging designer. Years after his line’s launch in 2009, the rising talent is now supported by French fashion and accessories group LVMH, which is sure to catapult him to household name status. His designs have already made a splash at Milan Fashion Week, and have been spotted on trendsetting stars like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift “I have my own obsessions that return — my play with colors, waves, circles, geometric and three-dimensional modules, the optical Sixties,” de Vincenzo told Women’s Wear Daily. De Vincenzo and his innovative designs are certainly becoming one of ours..
