The sincerest form of flattery?

Richmond Hill Post - - HOMES -

Is it illegal to copy the architecture of another home when building or renovating your own? This was the question that sprung into the minds of many after the Toronto Star reported that a Forest Hill couple that owns a home on Strathearn Road claimed that one of their neighbours renovated their Vesta Drive home to look like the Strathearn Road property. The Strathearn couple took the Vesta couple to court for copyright infringement and were suing them for $2.5 million over the issue. The two couples ended up settling out of court without disclosing the terms of the settlement.
