A Different Drive

If Audi’s new 2019 RS 5 Sportback were a piece of furniture, it would be a Le Corbusier chair. Long, low and luxurious with lines that flow unbroken down its length, the RS 5 is a rare car that’s as nice to look at as it is to live with. Not only does the rakish Sportback style distinguish the RS 5 from the riffraff of basic sedans and SUVs, it provides a surprisingly cavernous trunk. In the cabin, everything is about making life easier: a virtual dashboard puts a large 3D map right in front of you, advanced driver-assist technology takes some of the stress out of driving in traffic, and the Bang & Olufsen stereo delivers La Scala-level sound. The seats also have a massage function, which, last time we checked, Le Corbusier’s didn’t.
