THE MAKING OF AN ICON

-

Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, one of the most celebrated fashion icons of the 20th century, is the focus of the Costume Institute’s seasonal exhibition. Showcasing 60 stunning wardrobe ensembles from de Ribes’ personal archive, the exhibit explores her life and how she cultivated her sense of style. It is this journey that the exhibit’s curator, Harold Koda, describes as a type of performance art in itself. Jacqueline de Ribes: The Art of Style runs November 19, 2015–February 21, 2016 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Anna Wintour Costume Center in New York.
