A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION
Stars from all corners of the globe made their way to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in support of amfAR’s 23d-annual Cinema Against AIDS Cannes Gala. The evening’s entertainment included performances by Katy Perry, retro acts by Sister Sledge and The Village People, and a 32-supermodel fashion show curated by fashion editor Carine Roitfeld—with its entire multi-designer collection up for auction post-show. Additional auction offerings were just as grandiose, and included a dining pavilion designed by the late Zaha Hadid, original works of art by greats like Andy Warhol and Takashi Murakami, a private TASCHEN library (the most complete collection in the world, to be precise) which comes housed in its own Jean Prouvédesigned structure, and more. The evening raised an impressive
$25 million for HIV/AIDS research.
