Kindness Day to be celebrated locally
SACKVILLE, N.B. – The Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association next week to host several local events to help mark Kindness Day and Mental Health Week.
On Tuesday, May 5, Kindness Day will be celebrated with a “Kindness Coffee Cart” at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, with auxiliary and CMHA volunteers on hand to provide coffee and light snacks for individuals who are at the hospital and in need of a kindness pick me up.
That evening, CMHA, in collaboration with the Vogue Cinema, is putting on a free familyfriendly Robin Williams Movie Night. CMHA staff will be there handing out stress balls, pens, anti-stress kits, and provide information about mental wellness, mental illness and the services provided by CMHA of NB.
Kindness day is a provincial initiative designed to promote Acts of Kindness around local communities. It is also a day where the importance of kindness and its effects on one’s own wellness – mind, body and spirit – is emphasized.
Mental Health Week (May 4 to 10) features a number of events and activities hosted by CMHA in various locations across Canada, providing Canadians with information, resources and practical ways to stay mentally and physically healthy.
