Bor­der­town Mu­sic & Arts Fes­ti­val takes the stage this week­end

N.B. – The first-ever Bor­der­town Mu­sic & Arts Fes­ti­val is set to kick off this week­end in Sackville. The event will run from May 1 to 3, tak­ing place in many venues around town in­clud­ing Ge­orge’s Road­house, Thun­der & Light­ning, Vogue Cinema, Ducky’s, and many more.

High­lights for the week­end in­clude a read­ing from 2014 Giller Prize Win­ner Sean Michaels, per­for­mances by Juno-Award Nom­i­nee JW-Jones, ECMA Award win­ner Rich Au­coin, as well as leg­endary singer-song­writer Ron Hynes and lo­cal fa­vorite Ray Legere.

There will also be jazz, early mu­sic, and com­mu­nity mu­sic pre­sen­ta­tions. The fes­ti­val will also show­case the town’s art and hos­pi­tal­ity with ex­hi­bi­tions and work­shops pre­sented by Fog For­est Gallery and Owens Gallery, Su­per 8 film screen­ings by Struts Gallery & Faucet Me­dia Arts Cen­tre, a play read­ing by Live Bait Theatre, and restau­rant spe­cial at Mel’s Tea­room, Joey’s Pizza & Pasta, Black Duck Cafe & Bistro, and the Down­town Diner.
