Bordertown Music & Arts Festival takes the stage this weekend
N.B. – The first-ever Bordertown Music & Arts Festival is set to kick off this weekend in Sackville. The event will run from May 1 to 3, taking place in many venues around town including George’s Roadhouse, Thunder & Lightning, Vogue Cinema, Ducky’s, and many more.
Highlights for the weekend include a reading from 2014 Giller Prize Winner Sean Michaels, performances by Juno-Award Nominee JW-Jones, ECMA Award winner Rich Aucoin, as well as legendary singer-songwriter Ron Hynes and local favorite Ray Legere.
There will also be jazz, early music, and community music presentations. The festival will also showcase the town’s art and hospitality with exhibitions and workshops presented by Fog Forest Gallery and Owens Gallery, Super 8 film screenings by Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre, a play reading by Live Bait Theatre, and restaurant special at Mel’s Tearoom, Joey’s Pizza & Pasta, Black Duck Cafe & Bistro, and the Downtown Diner.
