Port El­gin Ro­tary Club host­ing an­nual walk-a-thon

The Port El­gin Ro­tary Club will host its 14th an­nual walk-athon on Satur­day, May 27.

This year’s walk will be held in the Baie Verte and Port El­gin area, with walk­ers gath­er­ing at the Baie Verte Com­mu­nity Hall at 9:30 a.m. for reg­is­tra­tion.

Money raised from this year’s walk will be used to sup­port the Ro­tary in its ef­forts to send campers to Camp Tid­nish and Camp Ta-wa-si.

Mem­bers of the Port El­gin Ro­tary Club ap­pre­ci­ate the sup­port lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties have shown by area res­i­dents in past years and hope they come out to sup­port them again this year.

Sign-up sheets can be picked up at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions in the Port El­gin area or from any Ro­tary mem­ber.

There will be a lunch af­ter the walk at the Baie Verte Com­mu­nity Hall. All walk­ers are re­minded to wear com­fort­able shoes and footwear with the weather in mind.
