The­atre work­shops be­ing of­fered this sum­mer

There will be two the­atre sum­mer work­shops of­fered this sum­mer for young peo­ple.

Winds­breath Cel­e­bra­tions and Re­treats, to­gether with the Live Bait The­atre Young Com­pany, will be pre­sent­ing a the­atre camp for chil­dren and youth, which will in­clude the­atre games, out­door ac­tiv­i­ties, set pro­duc­tion, and ex­plo­ration and pre­sen­ta­tion of skits from the play Pippi Long­stock­ings. The work­shop will be held July 17 to 20 from 1 to 5 p.m. with a fi­nal Thurs­day evening pre­sen­ta­tion. It is open for ages five to 15, and will be pre­sented at Winds­breath, which is lo­cated at 131 Fair­field Rd. in Sackville. The work­shop will be di­rected by Mar­i­lyn Hau­gen-strand to­gether and two as­sis­tants from Live Bait. The sec­ond work­shop that is be­ing of­fered is a musical the­atre work­shop for high-school-aged stu­dents, which will be pre­sented by Live Bait The­atre. It will be held July 24 to 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a fi­nal per­for­mance on Friday, July 14, at 7 p.m. This will be a week­long in­ten­sive work­shop for high school-aged stu­dents, dur­ing which an edited ver­sion of the musical West Side Story will be re­hearsed with a fi­nal per­for­mance on the last day. The week will in­clude singing and act­ing ex­er­cises and di­rec­tion, work­ing with a direc­tor with more than 25 years of ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing with stu­dents and with an ex­pe­ri­enced musical direc­tor and chore­og­ra­pher. Space in the work­shop is lim­ited. The dead­line to reg­is­ter for this work­shop is July 7.
