Slayter, San­dra “Sandy” Marie

It is with sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of San­dra “Sandy” Marie Slayter at the young age of 68, af­ter a brief strug­gle with Can­cer. Sandy passed away peace­fully at the Cum­ber­land Re­gional Health Care Cen­tre sur­rounded by fam­ily.

Born in Baie Verte, NB, she was a daugh­ter of Keith Good­win and the late Marie (Ge­orge) Good­win.

Sandy was a self­less lady that al­ways put oth­ers needs ahead of her own. She was ded­i­cated to fam­ily and de­voted the last sev­eral years to car­ing for her ag­ing par­ents. She worked many years at Ocean View Manor in Eastern Pas­sage, then with the N.S. De­part­ment of health.

She dearly loved and will be missed by her son Todd of Syl­van Lake, AB, her grand­daugh­ter Reay-anne, and great grand­hil­dren Kai­dyn and Kayleigh; her fa­ther Keith Good­win, Baie Verte; brothers Alan (Shar­ral), Dart­mouth, NS, Stephen (Cyn­thia), Fall River, NS, and Dan (Sheila), Bur­ton, NB; dear Aunt Bertha Scott, Port El­gin and her faith­ful dog Gun­ner.

Ar­range­ments are un­der the care and guid­ance of Jones Fu­neral Home, Port El­gin chapel; 3 West Main Street; (506-5382241). A grave­side ser­vice will be held from the Fern­wood Ceme­tery, Port El­gin, at 12 pm on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 7, 2017.

Do­na­tions in mem­ory of Sandy may be made to a char­ity of the donor’s choice.
