In­for­ma­tion on new Ser­vice Canada call cen­tre jobs

Corn­wall, On­tario-Guy Lau­zon, MP for Stor­mont-Dun­das-South Glen­garry, met with mem­bers of the lo­cal me­dia re­cently to out­line and pro­vide in­for­ma­tion to con­stituents on the job ap­pli­ca­tion process for the new Ser­vice Canada call cen­tre in Corn­wall.

“ The call cen­tre is presently sched­uled to open in Septem­ber of 2010 and will be lo­cated on Camp­bell Street right here in the city,” said Lau­zon. “ It will em­ploy ap­prox­i­mately 177 peo­ple con­sist­ing of 150 ci­ti­zen ser­vice of­fi­cers, with the re­main­ing be­ing man­age­ment, tech­ni­cal, and ad­min­is­tra­tive sup­port po­si­tions. It is re­ally go­ing to help boost the Corn­wall econ­omy by pro­vid­ing long-term and well-pay­ing jobs in our com­mu­nity.”

While the ex­act start date has yet to be de­ter­mined, in­di­vid­u­als in­ter­ested in work­ing at the new call cen­tre are en­cour­aged to im­me­di­ately start vis­it­ing the Pub­lic Ser­vice Com­mis­sion of Canada’s www. jobs. gc. ca web­site as all Corn­wall po­si­tions open to the pub­lic will be staff through this web­site. Since po­si­tions may start at dif­fer­ent times, op­por­tu­ni­ties can be posted at any time.

His web­site also in­clude a set of “ Fre­quent Asked Ques­tions” that will as­sist with an­swer­ing any ques­tions re­lated to the pro­gram.
