Another necktie, more golf balls and socks... yes, the age old question – what to buy dad for Father’s Day? Why not look to the skies and think of something entirely different this year; buy him a hot air balloon flight!

Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off provides the opportunity for the public to purchase a balloon flight from Lamoureux Park. “ There is so much excitement at the launch field that it is totally contagious,” commented Mary Marleau, Director of Hot Air Balloons. “ It is a very unique experience and provides a really fantastic view of the entire city.”

A gift certificate is a unique gift idea to celebrate Father’s Day or even a graduation. “ What a great way to share a special day with your dad or celebrate with your son or daughter as they embark on the next phase of their life,” added Chris Savard, Festival Chair. “ We can almost guarantee it is a day and a shared experience, that will be treasured forever”.

There are currently six flight windows scheduled for the 2010 festival, beginning Thursday, July 8 in the evening until the morning of Sunday, July 13. Typically, a flight over the city would fly between 500’ - 1500’ although, depending on the wind currents, altitudes can be somewhat higher.

Flights can be booked by contacting the Cornwall & Seaway Valley Tourism Office at ( 613) 938-4748 or 1800-937-4748. Flights are limited in quantity though, so don’t delay – call today!
